Change of Plans..

I was planning on posting all about my sewing set up etcetera etcetera etcetera. But then I had one of those kinda crappy days. One of those days that nothing in particular happened to make it stink like decomposing skunk. It just suckola-d.

So I figured I'd bitch for a bit.
And moan and groan about life as a teenager and how I'm so misunderstood by my parents, and whine about being hungry, and complain about not being popular.

Well. Now that I have that out of my system.
I figured out my hair from prom on Saturday! Wee!

And now for something to brighten the day.

Well... its kind of a short story

I was going to post more about my sewing today. But I didn't feel good after school. So I laid down for a bit. (I've had a little trouble sleeping this week. I'd go into details but its really not very interesting. Well the explosive migraine I had yesterday is interesting I guess. I was dancing and all of a sudden my head exploded into pretty colors and ninja stars just stabbing my head.  I had to sit down before I passed out. Looked something like this.)
Fun? No?
I digress...
I was going to sew. But I took a nap after school and when I woke up I had about 10 minutes to get to my dance practice. So, I blasted out of bed, grabbed a hair tie, string cheese, and a granola bar.
Luck would have it that this practice was more intense then KY Jelly. (I'm not quite sure how intense KY is, but from the commercials it looks like it could be used as some kind of nuclear warfare.)
Some how I made it through this practice. I only got home about an hour ago and the first thing I did was hit the shower like a magnet to iron. So now I'm writing this and I can already feel the stiffness setting in and I really didn't feel like going through the whole picture taking process.

However. I do have a treat for you.
A poem. Which I wrote in AP History instead of taking notes... *cough cough*

Recovery

I only miss you in the silence
Only in the still
Only when the stars and moon
Are free to shine at will

I only miss you in my memories
Only in my mind
Only when I remember I loved you
And that you loved me in kind

I only miss you when I forget
Only when I loose sight
Only when I let slip
How much I cried each night

I never miss you very much
Not when your name is called
Not even when I see you here
I never miss you at all.

And just for giggles...

A Stitch in Time

Today's Dress is one of my absolute favorites.
I made it last summer for my 4-H project. I won first place at county fair and could have gone to State fair but I'd also won reserve grand champion turkey and our sale was the same day as the state fair judging day. I was sad.

Anyways. I made this white eyelet dress and blue denim jacket.

I loved the white buttons and piping around the jacket. And 3/4 sleeves make it so i can wear the jacket any time of year. It's just a classic.

Now you can kind of see more of the dress.

The dress itself was a simple vintage-style dress. It also came with a pencil skirt option that I'll make sometime this summer.

One of my absolute favorite dresses. I wear it every chance I get.

Nothing like a white eyelet dress to make you feel like a fairy princess!

The Forgotten Stitch

For a long time I've been wondering how to make my measly blog more interesting. See I always forget about talents I have because they seem commonplace in my house. (i.e. My little brother in a metal bender; my older brothers are technical nerds; my littlest brother knits...)

So I'd come up with my two talents (...worth discussing...) ::
      Theater
      Writing

And I TOTALLY forgot about the one that always makes people have dinner-plate eyes and extend-a-jaw's.

I sew.

And so (no pun intended), my dear friend Mickey reminded me and helped me to decide to post a segment on things I've made. So I'll start relatively recent.

(Sorry, you don't get to see my masterpiece until after I get through my other projects)

So it begins

HOMECOMING '09

The Fabric I Chose

I couldn't find a hair piece that I liked. So I wove this necklace through my hair.

These sandals are my favorite shoes in the whole wide world. I found them at DSW marked down from $50.00 to $12.00. Needless to say, I flipped out. And they were perfect!!

And Finally

THE DRESS!!!!!!!!

I'll try to hunt down some pictures of the actual night!
